Spend days observing semi-wild and rehabilitated orangutans gathering at forest feeding platforms in Camp Leakey and Pondok Tanggui, accompanied by a dedicated chef preparing fresh Indonesian meals right onboard.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1

Pangkalan Bun Airport - Kumai Port - Sekonyer River Houseboat

Meet our guide upon arrival at Pangkalan Bun Airport. Short 20-minute transfer to Kumai Port and board your private two-story wooden klotok. Sail into Tanjung Puting National Park along the tranquil Sekonyer River. Enjoy a freshly prepared lunch while watching for proboscis monkeys, egrets, and kingfishers on the riverbanks. Visit Tanjung Harapan rehabilitation centre for the afternoon feeding. Sleep on deck under comfortable mosquito nets.

Day 2

Pondok Tanggui - Camp Leakey Orangutan Research Station

Wake up to the sounds of gibbons calling across the misty rainforest. Cruise upriver to Pondok Tanggui for the 09:00 morning feeding platform. Continue navigating through black water tributaries to legendary Camp Leakey, established in 1971 by Dr. Birute Galdikas. Trek into the primary forest to witness orangutans gathering for afternoon feeding. Spot wild boars, gibbons, and tropical birds along the trails. Return to the klotok for candlelit dinner surrounded by fireflies.

Day 3

Sekonyer River - Kumai Port - Pangkalan Bun Departure

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast on the upper deck as the boat gently drifts back downriver to Kumai Port. Transfer by private car to Pangkalan Bun Airport for your onward flight to Jakarta, Surabaya, or Semarang.
